Summer, May 2011, Shantou, China - Late Submission.

During the summer of 2011, I went to Shantou, my ancestral home.  It is around an hour bullet train ride from Hong Kong.  Although it was my first time in Shantou, I could immediately feel like I could feel some connection to the community.  Lets just say it was great to embrace the Chinese in me!

First thing I did, was join my family for lunch at a local restaurant for a traditional chiu-chow lunch.
A residential neighborhood just outside of the restaurant.

This is just a snap of my uncle's highschool's main courtyard.

Koi fish haven.

Anti Koi Fish.   -   All jokes aside, this was a great seafood restaurant.  I had a piece of that giant fish, bathing in its glorious fish broth.  It was good with a beer.
