I went to the Western Market, built in 1906... famous for being one of the oldest buildings in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. This building sticks out like a sore thumb... ("western market"). Not much to do there for a person like me. This market from what i saw, mainly consisted of fabric merchants... and there were some souvenir shops with little small hand crafted toys.
Moving on, Times Square has a bunch of GIANT toy story characters all set up around the mall. TOY STORY 3! BTW i'm only going to start uploading more when i find an image uploader so hat i can just link the pictures onto here, b/c blogger sucks at uploading pics.
little green men!
ICC, SO... in my recent research i have discovered that it is not the IFC that is Hong Kong's tallest building, it is the ICC. The ICC has 118 floors 484 m tall, vs IFC's 88 floors 415 m tall. Chinese people LOVE the number 8, which directly translates into (BECOMING FILTHY STINKING RICH). (18, 888, 28, 8 etc). the 1 translates into "Definately" , the 2 translates into "Easy". therefore you get, DEFINATELY becoming filthy stinking rich - 18 and EASY to become filthy stinking rich - 28. Sigh.
Oh and I went to a HKU Architecture Grad show again, with a tourguide kinda explaining some of the thesis (s?). One guy did his thesis on designing sensible architecture for divorced couples. ahha
